EXTRA BET BLACKJACK IS A NEW AND EXCITING TWIST ON THE TRADITIONAL GAME OF BLACKJACK!
Extra Bet is a modification to traditional blackjack that changes the dynamic of the game. It makes the game more exciting for the player. It is not a new game or a side bet. It is a Blackjack variation that allows a player to make an additional bet if their first card dealt is a ten value card (10,J,Q or K). The Extra Bet is wagered before the dealer draws their first card. This is when the player has a significant advantage to win the hand, 14.45%. The closest thing it can be compared to is a double down. The player must pay a 20% commission (vig) for the Extra Bet. House edge is 5.55% w/traditional blackjack rules. Once the bet has been made and the vig is paid, it becomes part of the principle bet. The Blackjack hand then plays out the rest of the way as per Blackjack rules.
The game was first offered in Palms Casino in Managua, Nicaragua in February 2014. It increased the drop and hold significantly and has continued to do so for over two years. After the bet was put on the tables, the response was truly incredible. The drop went up over 50%. Although Palms is a relatively small casino, the client base contains several demographics and they were all playing it. The hold on Blackjack went from approximately 14% to over 20%
